Leftovers jump Bullheads, win final playoff game 5-2.

The Dave 'N' Dave connection got on the board just after the 12 minute mark of the 1st. 3 minutes later, Anders "Nice Guy" Larson scored on a feed from behind the net by Ryan "Role Model" Guritz. Waldock scored again off a rebound from Larson's point shot.

Bies scored his second of the playoffs with a 5-3 man advantage early in the 2nd to give the Leftovers a 4 goal lead. Nate Bonde also scored his second shortly after. As they win do, the Leftovers took it easy and gave up a couple goals in the 3rd and finished playoff pool play with 1-1-1 record.

Game Notes: Bies was given a double minor for fighting the Bullheads goalie.

Gators tie Leftovers 2-2 in last minute effort.

The team got a slow start and gave up a goal on a defensive lapse in the 1st. Brent "Seat Belt" Hanson's homerun pass found "Cake Mix" Jim Buccellato and the score was 1-1 at the end of the 2nd.

Dave "Gas Tank" Bies scored a powerplay goal and the team tried to cling to the 1 goal lead. A to be un-named played was hit by the puck in front of the Gators open net for what would have been the game sealing goal. The Gators would then tie the game with :27 to go.

Leftovers sweep season series vs Titans in 4-1 win.

The Leftovers gave up an early powerplay goal and then waited till about the 12:00 mark of the 3rd to start the come back.

The Tits goalie was strong in net but Scott "Nam" McGuire's 2 goals in 1 minute put the team up 2-1. Jim Buccellato one-timed Gregg Myren's point pass for the insurance marker with just over 2 minutes to go. Davo Waldock added the empty netter for his career high 13th of the year.

Game Notes:
Jason Bleistein won the C1 Vezina with a 1.94 GAA and a 92.2 save%... The Leftovers begin their quest for a C1 championship on April 7th at Breck, 9:30pm.

Myren and Hanson lead the way in a 5-1 St. Patty's Day win over the Kodiaks.

The Leftovers gave up their typical early goal and were out shot 15-7 in the 1st. The Dave 2 Dave connection struck in the 2nd and tied the game at 1.

Gregg Myren and Brent Hanson both scored their 1st goals of the year late in the 2nd to put the Leftovers up 3-1. Myren's point shot found the back of the net while Hanson faked a 'Yaks defender out of his nut-cup and scored a shorty.

Early in the 3rd, Dean "Morris" Evenson scored his 5th of the year. Not to be outdone, Jim Buccellato became the 3rd Leftover to hit double digits in goals with his 10th of the year.

The C1 squad locked up the 2nd seed in the East and plays the Titans on Sunday, 8:45pm at BIG 3 in the regular season finale.

Game Notes: Jason Bleistein stopped 29 of 30 shots and has given up just 1 goal in each of the last 2 games...Dave "Steel Panther" Waldock is 3 points behind Scott "Nam" McGuire for the team lead in points...

Leftovers fire 58 pucks on net in 6-1 win over Venom.

With a 5-3 loss to the rival Phantoms still fresh in mind, the Leftovers came out firing on all cylinders. After Dean "Aquavit" Evenson missed on a breakaway, he collected his rebound and hit Anders Larson with a pass from behind the net to make the score 1-0. Jim "Catchers Mit of Lasagna" Buccellato added another shortly after.

Alex "Welcome Back" Mavridoglou scored on the power-play for the lone goal in the 2nd. The Dave 2 Dave connection worked a give'n'go out of the right corner with Waldock finding the back of the net. Gregg "Aww, #*$@!!!" Myren's breakaway feed to Bies resulted in a 5-0 Leftovers lead. Jeff "Moist" Wetterlind's 3rd of the season rounded out the score for the Leftovers.

Game Notes: The 58 shots one upped the 57 from a game in season 2 for a new team record....Jason "this isn't the droid you're looking for" Bleistein stopped 27 of 28 shots....The scorekeeper refused to add Buccellato's 3 bench assists....Evenson, Ryan "Appleseed" Guritz and Scott "Nam" McGuire combined to miss on 16 scoring chances.

Leftovers spot Phantoms 3 the 1st and drop 5-3

The Leftovers gave up 3 easy goals in the 1st. Scott "Nam" McGuire scored 2 goals and Jim "I got Girl Scout...Cookies" Buccellato's power play goal in the 3rd tied the game at 3. The Phantoms scored the game winner with less than 2 minutes and the empty netter was added to seal the deal.

The team squares off with the Venom on the 13th at No Hope arena hoping to solidify to a playoff berth.

Leftovers win back and forth game 3-2 over Ice Hounds.

The Leftovers swarmed the opposition's net early and often but the Hounds struck first. Later in the 2nd period Dave "LOW!!!LOW!!!" Bies scored his 1st of the year to tie the game at 1.
The Hounds scored again in the 3rd but Dean Evenson countered with his patented snap-shot from the top of the right circle. "Pie Shot" Dave Waldock out waited the Hounds goalie and banked a shot in off the back of the keepers knee to put the team ahead with 5 minutes to go. The Leftovers held off the Hounds attack late in the game with the score ending at 3-2 for a much needed 2 point win.

Game Notes: Nate "Wilbur" Bonde and Anders "Nice Guy" Larson combined to miss on three breakaway attempts.
Waldock's goal and assist on the night tied him with Scott "Nam" McGuire for the team lead in points.

Leftovers tie Landsharks 2-2 in a chippy game.

Dean Evenson scored first for the Leftovers. After the Landsharks tied it at 1, Ryan Guritz added another goal. Less than two minutes later, the Landsharks capitalized on a 2 on 1 and knotted it at two.

Leftovers face off against the Ice Hounds on Sunday.

Penalties and lackluster play add up to 3-2 defeat for Leftovers.

Jim Buccellato and Alex Mavridoglou each scored 2nd period goals. Ill times penalties and the Maroons hustle led to the 3-2 final score.

The Leftovers face off against rival Landsharks on the 21st at 9:30pm.

Yaks goalie "Rodeo" Dave Gardner steals the show, Leftovers and Kodiaks tie 2-2.

A Leftovers miscue lead to the Kodiaks 1st goal of the game at 10:37 of the 1st. Mark "Steady" Cochrane tied the game at 12:05 of the 2nd with his 1st of the season but the Yaks took the lead again shortly after. "Iron" Mike Nelson also scored his 1st of the campaign to knot the score at 2.

The Leftovers dominated the game late in the 3rd as well as OT but could not find the back of the net.

Leftovers tie Garden Snakes 3-3

Once again the Leftovers give up an early goal but then Dave "PrettyBoy" Waldock tipped in a Jake Dotray shot with 3 seconds in the 1st. The line of Dave Bies-Ryan Guritz-Waldock dominated play and accounted for something like 38 of the Leftovers 42 shots.

Down a goal in the 2nd Waldock onetimed a feed from Bies by the snakes sub goalie to tie it up. Dean "Sverige" Evenson scored on his own rebound(also in the 2nd) to put the team up 3-2. The snakes tied it up with less than 7 mintues in the 3rd and OT was needed.

A couple of Leftovers decided to "Jesse James" it and take penalties late in regulation and the extra frame but the Snakes could not convert.

Leftovers win late night battle of the Black & Orange 5-2.

The Phantoms over-powered the Leftovers early and scored halfway through the 1st. Alex Mavridoglou took great umbrage to this and then went coast to coast to knot the game at 1.

Scott McGuire scored on the man advantage in the 2nd but the Phantoms then countered with a power-play goal of their own. Nate "Needles" Bonde then "euthanized" his former team with a goal from inside the paint. McGuire added an insurance marker in the 3rd with "Jubilant" Jim Buccellato scoring on the open net.

Game Notes: Jason Bleisetein turned way 30 of 32 while Jake Dotray forgot his jersey.

Leftovers avenge early season loss with 3-1 win over Ice Hounds.

The team was shorthanded (11 skaters) and it showed with the score at 1-0 after the 1st period.

Dave "Steel Panther" Waldock tipped in a Mark Cochrane shot/pass from the point to tie the game in the 2nd.

After many near misses, Jake Dotray bounced a shot past the Hounds' goalie with less than 2 mintues in the 3rd. "Jeral" Dean Evenson hit the open net to make the score 3-1 while exchanging pleasantries with the Hounds #7 throughout the game.

Four regulars missed the game, two excused. Ryan Guritz was MIA and is feared to have been lost in a keg of Schell's. Nate Bonde is recovering from a swine euthanizing gone awry in Nerstrand, MN.

Jason Bleistein stopped 22 of 23 shots and has allowed just 4 goals in the last 3 games.

Leftovers lay an egg, tie shorthanded Landsharks 1-1.

Dave Waldock took a feed from the 'sharks #16 and scored on a breakaway in the 2nd to get the Leftovers on the board first. After a giveaway at the Landsharks blueline by Anders "the Swedish Chef" Larson, the game was tied at 1 each.

Five minutes of OT was required but neither team could find the back of the net. Jason Bleistein was solid in net stopping 28 of 29 shots.

The team has 2 weeks off before facing the Ice Hounds on Jan 2nd.

Leftovers win penalty filled game 4-2 over Maroons.

Facing off against a team that featured NHL legends Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, and current greats Evgeny Malkin and Alex Ovechkin(switched to #13 for the game) the Leftovers dominated play and outshot the Maroons 41-21.

Jeff Wetterlind opened the scoring with his 1st of the year at 2:02 of the 2nd frame. Jim Buccellato added another shortly after off a nice feed from Scott McGuire. The Maroons struck back with 2 goals in the 3rd but McGuire answered to put the team up for good. Jake Dotray scored his 1st of the season for the insurance marker.

Jason Bleistein made 19 saves returning from his 3 week tour of New England to promote his new book "Minnesota Drivers Suck". Nate Bonde took another large step (12 minutes worth) towards becoming the 1st Leftover not named Dean Evenson or Mike Waltman to lead the team in PIMs

December 6, 20009

Leftovers shutout Titans 6-0.

The Leftovers improved to 4-2 with their 3rd straight win. Alex Mavridoglou and Scott McGuire got the team started with goals 15 seconds apart in the 1st period. McGuire and Jim "I'm a ref too" Buccellato both scored a pair with Jeff "Chicky" Stimac adding his 1st of the season.

Sub goalie Justin Geijer turned away all 22 shots faced. Regular goalie Jason Bleistein is slated to return for the next game after his 3 week vacation to scenic Delaware.

Last second goal gives Leftovers 3-2 win over Kodiaks.

Alex "Attendance" Mavridoglou scored 2 goals including his 2nd at the 6 minute mark of the 3rd frame to give the Leftovers a 2-1 lead. A Yaks powerplay goal at 2:55 tied the game at 2. Then the magic happened...

Davo "Bobby Orr" Waldock intersepted an ill advised pass from a Kodiaks D-man and scored on a back-hand five hole to put the Leftovers up 3-2 while flying horizontally through the crease with just 2 seconds on the clock.

Mike "I don't like my gear wet" Maggiolo made 20 saves in place of Jason Bleistein who missed his 2nd straight game with a hang nail.

November 21, 20009

Leftovers back at .500 by "Forrest Gumping" their way past Venom with a 7-5 win.

Tied at 4-4, Nate Bonde scored 2 goals in 3 minutes followed with Dave Waldock scoring on a breakaway set up by Jim Buccellato to drive the nail in the coffin.

Ryan Guritz scored his 1st of the season while Waldock, Bonde, and Scott McGuire each added 2. Guritz would have had 2 also but for missing a completly open net from inside the paint.

Mike "Blue, Blanc, Rouge" Maggiolo made 23 saves stepping in for Jason "Donation" Bleistein.

November 11, 20009

The ten day break did the Leftovers no good and they couldn't find the net in the final two periods to pull even, which ended in a 3-2 loss to the Phantoms.

Dave Waldock and Jim Buccellato scored the Leftovers two goals.

The Leftovers have another ten day break before they meet the Venom for the second time in the tenure with the league.

November 1, 20009

The Leftovers played a mostly uninspired game and fell to the Ice Hounds 3-2. It was the first ever meeting between the teams.

Anders Larson and Scott McGuire scored the Leftovers goals.

The team has a week and a half to regroup when they face off against the Phantoms.

October 24, 20009

Despite some opening game technical difficulty with the rink's equipment, there was a game played and the Leftovers defeated the Landsharks 6-2 for their third consecutive season opener victory and fifth in the last six season.

Scott McGuire netted four goals and Jim Buccellato and Alex Mavridoglou each scored once.

The Leftovers will play the Ice Hounds at Highland Arena next weekend.

All 25 C1 teams were split into three different divisions, with the Leftovers being designated to C1 East. The other C1 East teams are:

The schedule should be released shortly, with play tentatively scheduled to begin on October 24.

The Leftovers came out slow and the Battle Cats capitalized, jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead and holding on for a 3-1 victory to win the Championship.

Scott McGuire scored the only goal for the Leftovers.

The team is off until the season begins the weekend of October 24.

September 19, 20009--Evening Update

The Leftovers needed a win to advance to the Championship game on Sunday, and they did just that with a decisive 4-0 victory over the Kodiaks.

Brent Hanson, Scott McGuire, Dean Evenson and Jim Buccellato all scored for the Leftovers, and Jason Bleistein turned away 14 shots for the shutout.

Because it wouldn't be an AHA season without facing the Battle Cats at some point in the season, the Leftovers will do just that Sunday morning for the Championship.

September 19, 20009--Afternoon Update

The defense came through for the Leftovers on goals by Jake Dotray, Mark Cochrane and Brent Hanson and they helped thwart a late game rush as the Leftovers beat the Rack Attack 3-2.

The Leftovers must win tonight's game against the Kodiaks to move on.

Jeff Wetterlind and Scott McGuire scored for the Leftovers as they hung on, with a little help from the left post, for a 2-2 tie agains the Royals.

The schedule for the 2nd Annual AHA Fall Tournament has been released. The Leftovers have three games, with the championship being on Sunday for the top teams in each pool.

The Leftovers are in Pool B with the Kodiaks, Rack Attack and Royals. Admission to the tournament is free, so stop by!

August 19, 20009

The Leftovers will gear up for the 2009-2010 season by participatin in the 2nd Annual AHA Fall Tournament at Bloomington Ice Gardens on September 18-20. Each team is guarenteed three games and championship games will be on Sunday.

The schedule will be posted as soon as it is available.

The 2009-2010 Winter Season is tentatively scheduled to begin the last week in October.
